Arnold was born on June 3, 1979. He came to live with his father when he was 12 and eventually went to McClatchy High School. He came into our lives at the age of 16, when he started dating our daughter Tanya. Although shy at first, we soon saw what a good heart he had and enjoyed his sense of humor. Always quick with a joke and a smile. In 1999, Tanya and Arnold decided to get married, but wanted to wait until he got back from boot camp, as he had decided to join the National Guard. Just before leaving, they found out that Tanya was pregnant. When Arnold returned, they were married on December 20, 1999. On February 5, 2000, Isabel was born. One of his father's fondest memories was when he called from the hospital to tell him he had a daughter. Although there were some troubled times ahead for Tanya and Arnold, they never stopped loving each other. After working at a Chevrolet dealership, Arnold joined the Guard full time, working as a guard for their facility here in Sacramento. In August of 2004, he left with Charlie Company for training, prior to being deployed to Iraq. We enjoyed several visits, the first being at Christmas time, when he was allowed to come home before going overseas. The second was in May of 2005, when he came home for a 2 week leave. We were all able to help him celebrate his 26th birthday. On June 8th, he left to return to duty. June 22nd dawned and became the most horrific day we have all ever endured. A sniper's bullet took Arnold from us as he patrolled on the roof of a popular hotel in Baghdad.
Born in California on June 03, 1979.
Passed away on June 21, 2005 at the age of 26.
