Thinking of you  / Christopher McCully (Brother)

-May the wind always be at your back, and the sun always upon your face, and may the wings of destiny carry you aloft to dance with the stars.-

Arnold you are missed and thought of everyday!  One day I'll be able to see you grandpa, and dad.  One day we will be able to laugh together like we used to. I miss all the late night hang outs with you tanya and Josh, playing The Game of Life. Isabel sitting in her high chair crinkling up all your play money. Christmas is almost upon us once again.  Things seems to fly by so fast now,  I wish I could fly home to see you.  I could use the company this holiday,  remember all the nights I used to come to Mt. Vernon and just lay in the grass and talk to you.  I love you Arnie.

You are hear with me everyday.  / Arnold Duplantier Sr (Father)
Hi Arnie,
It's Monday night and tomorrow is a dedication ceremony at OTAG for the Fallen......

I found your friend's blog and subsequently this site.....

I  remember everything.....
When I taught you how to roller skate.  You were about 15 and i drove you and your girlfriend to King's Skate Country. remember...

I remember when you were just a kid-when I only had weekend visitation. You never wanted to go home......

I remember when you cried.....I remember the tears rolling down your eyes.......

I remember watching you as you slept and then when you and I watched Isabel as she fought sleep....eyes slowly closing then opening repeating until she was in a deep sleep.....

I remember waking up in the morning and seeing you, Isabel, and Toby still sleeping. Toby was still a small puppy..

Yesterday I took our daughter to the her first day of the second grade, and as I look at her and I saw you. I wish that we could have done this together. I know that you were there in spirt. Our little girl is growing up so fast! I also felt angry that all those other children had both of there parents their. Why were you taken from us? I know that god had a bigger purpose for you, there will never be another you. You are a great man, I love you and miss you.

Love Tanya

To some Arnold may be forgotten, to others a part of the past. But to those who loved  you Arnold, your memory will last.

Gone But Not Forgotten  / Misty (Sister of Fallen Marine Cpl. Rusty Washam )

The Fallen
Written by Andrea Senter

They never thought when they left here
their families they'd see no more
No one dares to think about
The high price of such a war.

If you asked them why they did it
They'd say because it was right
Someone has to stand up
And someone has to fight

A world away they defend our cause,
as we tuck our kids in bed.
Some give all for all of us,
And somewhere tears will be shed.

They do not ask for fame or fortune
Just that we recognize
We are here, free, today,
Because the fallen have paid the price.

I am so sorry for you loss. I lost my brother Marine Cpl. Rusty Washam February 14, 2006 in Iraq by a suicide bomber he was only 21. People keep saying it will get easier as time goes by its been alittle over a year since we lost Rusty and it still feels like yesterday. I will keep you and your family in my prayers. May God Bless you and help heal your Broken Hearts from this huge loss.
My brother has a site to it is rusty-washam.memory-of.com

Everyday that passes I think of what have might have been, all the plans we had are all gone. Where do I go from here? I promise you that I will keep your little girl safe and never let her forget how much you loved her. SHe looks like you more and more everyday, she has the curve of your chin and and that look in her eye. Little Arnold we call her.
I know that you are watching over us! At times and sit and read the last letters I received after you had passed how happy you where and how much we where in love. I will never forget the phone call i got from you just hours before you pasted. I still can hear your voice in my ear.
I love you Arnold, forever and ever.

Arnold-A hero to me. My brother, my best friend. As I begin my life and enter into the world of responsibility, I am constantly reminded of my brothers advice to me as a young adolecent. To grow up with my head on straight, not to worry about others but yourself. Now that the days are here, I look for that advice, I look for the encouragment. Who do I look towards know? Who do I talk to. Arnold was a huge impact on my life and I'm sure on others as well, Always willing to listen, help, and offer solutions. I will always remember him as my mentor and now that responsibility days are here hopfully he is looking down at me and smiling because of the wonderful things I am doing for myself and for my fellow peers. Arnold I want to make you proud, so watch me as I take on life and dont be shy to lend a helping hand if you feel like doing so. hahaha! Arnold I love you, you will always be my hero. Close

He will always be with me.  / David Hubbard (Friend)
There are few people in my life that left the impression on me that Arnold did.  Serving under me to becoming a dear friend, Arnold left his mark on all that he came into contact with.  I now look back upon my experiences with him and I cannot think of a time when he had an unkind word or wasn't worried about others.  I had a short friendship with Arnold and wish that it could have had time to grow.  He loved his family, friends and quickly grew on those he just met.  You can't help but remember him and smile or laugh at what a dork he was and how he always lifted your spirits.  I will always remember him and be here for his family.  I know he would have done the same.  Close

Arnold was one of the best soldiers I have ever had the privilage of serving with.  I don't say that lightly.  He truly lived the Army Values and stood as an example to all that served with him.  He was an absolute shining example of selfless service, he would bend over backwards for anyone in need and never thought of himself over anyone else.  I will never forget him and I am proud to call him my friend. Im so sorry for your loss, I know that no words that people say will make the pain go away, I know because I lost my dad this past Janurary 2005 and he was a vietnam veteran who served his country to 25 years and lost his life because of serving in Vietnam.  God Bless you and your family and your daughter will always see her dad as a Hero because that is what he is to your family and to us. God Bless you and may he give you the peace that you need in these troubling times.

Terri:

I am saddened to hear of the loss of your gallant son, Arnold. My brother, Joe, was killed in Viet Nam in 1968 also fighting for freedom. I do not know what it is like to lose a child, except that I felt my mother's grief and sorrow. As time went on, she had a wonderful life and we all had good memories of Joe. You will have brighter days with fond memories of Arnold. May God bless you and your family; and may we all remember Arnold in prayer for his honor and sacrifice.
